(3) formation flexibility — it took 20 years for Wenger to return to a back 3 and now he can't seem to choose anything but that formation... the teams in the premiership and those we could face in the Europa will present vastly different tactics and we need to have a manager who can prepare this squad for this eventuality and have the fortitude to make the necessary adjustments throughout the season... I have seen nothing in the past 6 - 7 years to suggest that he is the man to take on this challenge... I can't even remember when he changed formations when he would replace a small, pacy striker, like during the Walcott experiment, with the lumbering Giroud... of course this is exactly why there is no other manager in the world that plays more players out of their natural positions (square peg in a round hole)

off topic: looking at Leicester this season compared to last year, except for about 4 new players that Ranieri bought they have a similar squad, i could be wrong but Nigel Pearson, s great escape doesn, t look like such a big achievement now, did his team not perform?did he mismanage it?is he not as good a manager as we thought or is Ranieri really that good for making it look so easy and get the credit???

I know Arsenal all too well and trust me we would've still lost.A lot of people think this Arsenal squad isn't good enough to win the league but I beg to differ.Give this same squad to Rafa Benitez or any world class manager even without any signing before the transfer window ends and watch us play like you've never seen before. The problem in this team has always been tactics, mentality and mismanagement. This is what has really been disturbing us for several seasons but alwas goes ignored.Mark my words that if Arsenal get everyone they're supposed to we're not winning the league if those three things aren't checked. We need signings but our problem is much bigger than signings.Give this same squad to Klopp or a too manager and you'd be shocked some players who were called average will be playing differently. You know why?Strong mentality, proper management and good tactics count.
In the midfield, (including RWB & LWB) we have a whole bunch of tweeners... none offer the full package, none make sense in our manager's current favourite formation, except for Sead on the left and Ox on the right, and all of them have never shown any consistency for more than a heartbeat... Sead, who I'm including in this category because of our present formation, looks like a positive addition, minus his occasional brain farts, but I would rather see what he could do in a back 4 before making my mind up... Ox, who has never played better, which isn't saying much considering his largely underwhelming play in previous seasons, seems to have found a home in this new formation; unfortunately, can we really expect this oft - injured player to handle the taxing duties that come with said position over the long haul, not to mention, it looks like he has no intention of staying... Ramsey has relied on the empathy that stems from his gruesome injury years ago and the excitement that was generated a few years back when he finally seemed to put in altogether, but on the whole he has been a big disappointment (neither he nor the Ox have scored enough to warrant a regular spot)... Wiltshire should be put on a weekly contract then played until he suffers his first injury, if and when that occurs he should be shipped - out and no one should very be allowed to say his name on club grounds ever again... Elnehy & Coq are average players who couldn't make any of the top 7 teams currently in the EPL... both have showed some great energy on the pitch, but neither are top quality and no good team can afford to have that many average players on their bench playing the same position, especially with Coq's injury history / discipline concerns and Elheny's headless chicken tendencies... as for Xhaka, his tenure here so far has been incredibly underwhelming... we know he has some skills to provide the long ball but his defensive work is piss poor and he gives the ball away too cheaply and far too often... finally, the enigma himself, Ozil, so much skill with his left foot but his presence has been more frustrating than uplifting... in many respects his failure has been directly related to the failure of this club to provide him with the necessary players up front, minus Sanchez of course, and unless something drastic happens very soon his legacy will be largely a negative one (much like Wenger's)
Yes there will be a time when Wenger moves on and hopefully someone like pep will replace him but the reality is he will be manager for the next couple of seasons and writing «Wenger out» on a forum day in day out won't change that.

lst season at stamford bridge, was the first time i saw that 4 -1-4-1 formation being used, and for some weird reason i feel a very strange negative vibe and well all know the outcome.the manager has come back with this formation and its not yielding result, but he still sticks with it.i do nt know much about formations dear friends, but if you are playing a slow dm in arteta and a very very slow cb, then you are toast against quality teams with sound tactics.wen playing wellbeck as a lone striker, i think 4 -2-3-1, will work better, but if we have a big player like oliver (boooos), thn we can try the 4 -1-4-1, thingy cos he can hold the ball for our midfielders to run in.but on the overall, shame on wenger for not giving our defence a good cover DM.NO BODY PLAYS A SLOW DM / CB AND EXPECT TO B REGARDED AS CHAMPIONSHIP MATERIAL.IT HURTS GUYS, REALLY HURTS.
I like to think of myself as a fairly rational individual, which is why what has and is going on at Arsenal confounds me... little wonder people have gone so far as to suggest that Wenger is actually sabotaging the club... one only needs to look at our starting 11 to stoke the flames of conspiracy... just think of the perceived importance of this game, considering the loss to Stoke, the historically significance of the two teams involved, the controversy that swirled around our two meetings last season, the proximity to the closing of the window and the general disdain being directed towards the manager once again... how is it even possible that you wouldn't come to Anfield with all guns blazing... not a single shot on target, with the back - up keeper in no less... where were the new signings?

Ofcorse it is, the injuries are to be blamed for all Arsenal problems. This year it is the injuries, last year it is the injuries and the year before that it is the injuries. It is really shame for a club like arsenal to give excuses for their problem on injuries season after season after season.According to the manager, the players and the majority of the fans, the problems has nothing to do with the fact that the club did not strengthened the most problematic area in the team, DM and CBs; it has nothing to do with the fact that players were played out of position; and it has nothing to do with the fact that Wenger's tactical inability (for games like Liverpool 5 - 1, Chelsea 6 - 0, City 6 - 3, Everton 3 - 0, Andrelechet 3 - 3, Swansea 2 - 1).
4 years ago I got behind the man and supported him, looked for the positives like his 2nd season being better than his 1st and previously he has always done better in the team on the 2nd year... I wanted him to be the CF we needed and a lot of fans supported him and cheered for him, gave him his song and he returned the favor by being a lazy git who only steps up around the transfer periods to make his manager think again about needing a Cf.
It seems like a pretty starightforward choice for the manager to make and one that is based on how much risk he is willing to take to ensure Arsenal record our first EPL win of the season.
