seat belt anchor cable from failing
Pretensioners and load limiters can be mounted in the B - pillar or can be attached to the
female seat belt anchor attached to the lower part of the car seat.
Hyundai Sonata vehicles have
a seat belt anchor pretensioner that is fastened to the inner sill structure of the sedan.
The automaker reported to U.S. safety regulators that in the affected vehicles, the seat belt linkages for both front seat belts may detach from
the seat belt anchor pretensioners.
The Problem: Porsche is recalling some 2011 and 2012 911s, as well as all 2012 Boxsters and Caymans because of an improper fitting in
the seat belt anchor.
Cause: The affected vehicles may have been assembled using
a seat belt anchor nut that is out of specification.
Concern: If
the seat belt anchor bolt can not be properly secured into the anchor plate, this could place vehicle occupants at an increased risk of injury during a motor vehicle crash.
The seat belt linkages for both front seat belts may detach from
the seat belt anchor pretensioners.
Action Need To Fix It: Hyundai will notify owners and dealers will inspect the connection between the seat belt linkages and
the seat belt anchor pretensioners, repairing them as necessary, free of charge.
