by the New Times.
The opening exhibition, «A song for Rio», curated
by Douglas Fogles and Hanneke Skerat, is divided in two parts — the
second one opens in February — and features over twenty national and
international artists.
This is the
second in a six - part series of exhibitions entitled NOW, which bring together the best of contemporary art being made in Scotland with work
by leading
international artists.

by the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, this exhibition is the
second stop on a three city tour.More than one hundred pieces, from paintings to sculptures are included in this exhibition of the career and life of the
artist Henry O. Tanner (1859 - 1937)- including Tanner's upbringing in Philadelphia in the years after the Civil War, the
artist's success as an American expatriate
artist at the highest levels of the
International art world at the turn of the 20th century; Tanner's role as a leader of an
artist's colony in the rural France and his unique contributions in aid of American servicemen to the Red Cross efforts in WWI France and his modernist invigoration of religious painting deeply rooted in his own faith.
Showcasing work
by new and emerging
artists and 25 galleries, the contemporary art fair also includes editions
by the Baltic Centre For Contemporary Art, Glasgow
International and Liverpool Biennial, as well as the
second Sunday Art Fair Print Portfolio, this year featuring new editions
by Olivia Erlanger, Ian Law and Oliver Osborne.
As part of the
second BMW Tate Live Exhibition, some of her most celebrated performances will be re-staged for the first time and there will also be performances and concerts
by some of the many
international artists with whom she has collaborated over her career.
Focusing on the fast - approaching end of a rather hectic century, Francesco Bonami, US editor of Flash Art known for curating «Campo,» a show of photo - based work
by young
artists at 1995's Venice Biennale, is assembling an
international cast for the
second biennial at SITE Santa Fe.
A truly
international show, bringing together
artists from Europe, USA, Australia and New Zealand it will also stand as the
second of a series of annual group exhibitions held
by the HICA art - space which seek each year to extend the discussion around the space and its concerns with ideas of» concrete» as opposed to «abstract» artworks.
The gallery is located at the same address as Last Rites in New York, which has moved to the
second floor mezzanine gallery, where it will showcase works
by international artists working in a variety of media and figurative styles.
