With the exception of a couple of truly dazzling action set pieces, «Mockingjay — Part 2» provides more of what we saw in «Mockingjay — Part 1»: a lot of wheel - spinning and repetitive imagery.

The missed opportunities with political commentary and a more in - depth love story do not harm the entertainment value here, and the box office success guarantees we will see «Catching Fire» and «Mockingjay» to finish out the trilogy.
And though some of these issues remain in Mockingjay: Part 1, it is certainly the best of the films so far, and leaves me excited to see its conclusion.
