Overall, 57 % think we'll
see Raiden (ethereum's off - chain scaling technology) live in 2017 and 87 % believe Raiden will be live by the end of 2018.
Starting with a more CG looking video, we first
see Raiden taking on some kind of armoured soldier — possibly not human but more than likely some kind of cyber-human hybrid, not unlike the B&B Corps from MGS4.
PSB: In an old trailer for Revengeance,
we see Raiden using a staff similar to the one Mistral is using.
On the screen you can
see Raiden holding a cyborg spine in his hand, which he presumably just ripped out of an enemy he defeated.

Included in the blog were a couple of short demonstration videos were you can
see Raiden cut up soldiers, Dwarf Gekkos and enormous watermelons.

we saw Raiden driving a car, but it looks like that's not the only vehicle he'll be using in the game.
Set four years post-MGS4, Rising
sees Raiden working as part of a PMC (Private Military Company) called Maverick, one focused purely on security — rather than simply an army available to the highest bidder.
Just imagine
seeing Raiden toss Metal Gear Rays in the air and slashing them in half on Next Gen Graphics?

The newest entry in the Metal Gear series, this one stars the once hated
Raiden with no Solid Snake to be
seen.
In spite of being the most visually - stunning title
seen on any console to date, and having a gorgeous musical score from famed composer Harry Gregson - Williams, the game created vast rifts in the gaming community with Solid Snake's replacement in
Raiden.

I just don't
see how this is something
Raiden would enjoy, let alone say things like «Let «er rip!».
As to why
Raiden was chosen to play the lead it was because he was all about slicing up foes in Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots and Kojima Productions wanted Rising to be all about blade action - a natural fit you
see.
We
saw a demonstration of the cutting mechanics, in which
Raiden was slicing up a watermelon, but of the actual gameplay or story pretty much everything was shrouded in mystery.
Raiden as a character is dramatically different from what we have
seen in the other games.
One side of the bag features a picture of Big Boss, the other one of
Raiden, and on the inside you can
see the title of the game.
A few days back, Kojima posted some photos of the menu screen on his Twitter, on which we could
see the character model of
Raiden in a black cyborg suit.
Falling back into depression,
Raiden sees that the battlefield is the only place for him, so he outfits himself to become a cybernetic ninja with an exoskeleton.
We can
see what looks like a tunnel on the upper drawing, followed by a close up of
Raiden behind the wheel.
Dubbed «Snatchers,» a reference to Kojima's own Snatcher videogame, these aliens are disguised as human guards, so
Raiden must use the iDroid app or binoculars to
see their irregular X-Rays.
The second one includes everything the first has, but it also has a PlayArts Kai figure of
Raiden in his white form (which you can
see below).
Available May 1st, PS3 and PS4 users will get a chance to play the previously Xbox - exclusive Jamais - Vu mission, which
sees gamers take control of
Raiden in the Ground Zeroes containment camp.
Regardless, the writers aren't afraid to offer up a couple of moments of light humor as well, such as
Raiden donning a poncho and hat, claiming that nobody will be able to
see through the disguise.
I loved
seeing a hack «n» slash game using MGS elements however, and playing as
Raiden was truly awesome.
Unfortunately, outside of
seeing the number increase when bolstering
Raiden's help, anything I unlocked and purchased was barely noticeable in combat.
And, although
Raiden's legacy didn't start off very strong (the game still remains my favorite of the series), his return in Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots as a Grey Fox-esque ninja cyborg wielding a deadly blade not only earned his redemption, but it left fans wanting to
see what happened that led to
Raiden becoming a cyborg.
Throughout the game are certain soldiers whose left hands are highlighted when you enter
Raiden's AR vision mode (which allows you to
see certain markers, and
see in the dark).
Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance isn't that story, but it does provide the opportunity to
see this other side of
Raiden — a side where he slices and dices foes instead of grabbing his bare crotch while femininely flipping across a hallway.
Raiden is also
seen demonstrating his level 3 super move which has other characters hide in boxes MGS style while
Raiden scores for kills.
If you check out Rising's debut trailer, you'll
see protagonist ninja
Raiden chopping up enemy humans from an rather artistic range of angles.
When you
see an enemy glow orange that means it's time to flick the left stick towards them while pressing the light attack button; if you time it right you'll parry their attack and if you parry it at the last possible moment then
Raiden will follow it up with an attack.
Next, Xbox - exclusive mission (it's not confirmed if this is timed or straight - up exclusive yet) «Jamais Vu»
sees a Cuban naval base invaded by body - snatchers, with only cyborg - ninja
Raiden poised to save the world.
But the biggest issue, and one I've
seen with the
Raiden series as a whole is the price point.
As far as plot is concerned — little is known at the moment except that it is set before MGS4, with
Raiden looking a little more dishevelled than we
saw him before — the game should show a bit of his transformation, and hopefully cover some parts of his involvement before Guns of the Patriots.
However,
seeing as
Raiden is the almighty god of thunder I wouldn't be surprised if his play styles were limited in the full release.
Wielding his high - frequency blade,
Raiden can be
seen executing quick combos.
Raiden's upgraded frame will apparently give him boosted agility so we could even
see some new stealth techniques we have yet to have
seen in the series so far.
This latest chapter in Hideo Kojima's legendary tactical espionage actin series marks the return of several characters from previous Metal Gear Solid games including Revolver Ocelot, Meryl Silverburgh, Naomi Hunter and
Raiden, and features an unforgettable story that depicts the desperate state of the future as
seen through the eyes of an older Solid Snake.
Then there's Jamais Vu, which
sees you playing as
Raiden from Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance.
Raiden is
seen in the trailer in a third - person perspective, where he took on a massive robot with guns and defeated it by ripping out its spine and crushing it.
Metal Gear Solid 4 conversely demoted
Raiden to a supporting character, but
saw him transformed into a menacing cyborg ninja, where he featured in some of the most spectacular cut scenes that the game had to offer and, as a result, people finally wanted to play as him.
Third party characters such as Dante from Capcom and Ninja theory's upcoming reboot DMC: Devil May Cry (though the more famous and established white haired one is bizarrely nowhere to be
seen),
Raiden from Metal Gear, Heihachi from Tekken and Big Daddy from BioShock are also featured.
They needed to give us something good after
seeing Evil Cole and
Raiden...
Raiden's appearance in PlayStation All - Stars marks the first time he has been playable in a fighting game, so we hope you're all as hyped as we are to finally
see him in action against the likes of Dante, Kratos, Heihachi, Cole MacGrath and other high - profile fighters.
