A more practical way to promote
change within the sustainability movement would be to a) create narratives that portray and encourage the desired ideas and actions as historical and current reality or as historical precedent in support of a nuanced evolution
within the current orthodoxy, rather than to portray them as a
significant change in belief or practice; b) to portray the desired ideas and actions as long - held beliefs and practices of the most widely - admired leaders of the orthodoxy and as actions and ideas typical of orthodox believers; or c) to shame believers into
seeing the desired beliefs and actions as acceptable means of atonement for past sustainability sin or as new «stones» that can be thrown at non-believers.
Going by the strong activity levels we have
seen from the start of 2017, and barring any
significant policy
changes within the broader economy, the outlook for the rest of the year remains positive.
If you're not
seeing significant improvement
within a few weeks, you need to start setting and enforcing consequences, which in this case will mean warning people (individually, not as a group) that they risk termination if you don't
see fairly quick
changes.
