Obviously, the island got its name from the black - tip reef sharks that live off the northwest point of the island, but you will also
see bull sharks and whale sharks when you dive here too!
But I knew I had
seen the bull shark.
I have no desire to
see a bull shark in person, though I have seen one shortly after getting out of the water.

But I'm 99 percent certain that what I
saw was a
bull shark, which is one of the most aggressive
shark species in the world.
There are large oceanic fish species here like trevally and barracuda, and you might
see larger fish such as the giant grouper,
bull shark and reef
shark.
Multiple
bull sharks, tiger
sharks, lemon
sharks, silver tips, nurse
sharks, grey reef
sharks, white tip reef
sharks and black tip reef
sharks can all be
seen on this amazing dive.
Shark species that have been

Tube and barrel sponges are common, and there is a good chance of
seeing nurse and
bull sharks.
Oceanic whitetip
sharks (complete with their attendant pilotfish), lemon, blacktip and
bull sharks, are likely to be
seen.
I've
seen 15 foot
Bulls, really huge Tigers, lots of Black tip reef and even a couple Hammers in schools exceeding 15
sharks at these events.
The Protea Banks is rated as one of the best
shark diving sites in the world, and it is often possible to
see up to 5 species of
sharks on a single dive including Zambezi [Bull] Sharks, Tiger Sharks, Hammerheads, Blacktip Sharks, Ragged - Tooth Sharks, Bronze Whalers, Giant Guitar Sharks and if you are lucky a passing Great

shark dives in Fiji and
saw tawny nurse
sharks (not grey),
bull sharks, lemon
sharks, grey reef, silvertips, white and black tips.

But last summer, tourists in Australia's Kakadu National Park
saw the two beasts toward the end of what must have been an interesting struggle between a saltwater crocodile and a (notoriously tough)
bull shark.
