Each night, we boarded the dugout to look for white
caimans, and we did
see a few of the crocodilians.
Your kids will get to
see anacondas, anteaters, hundreds of species of birds, broad snouted
caimans and vacares, swamp deer, howler monkeys, and, of course, the infamous capybara, the biggest rodent in the world.
We did get to
see a few
caiman, but what was more memorable was the feeling like we were in the middle of nowhere.
Wildlife you might expect to
see includes turtles, monkeys,
caiman, many birds including the quetzal, and with luck maybe even the elusive jaguar.
This was the experience of a lifetime - hiking the Inca Trail, trekking in the Amazon Jungle and
seeing monkeys,
caiman, capybaras, a sloth and a tarantula, and boating around Lake Titicaca - it truly was an «Active Adventure» that we'll never forget!!»
Once there you will paddle around the lake in a catamaran, searching for the resident family of nine giant river otters (
seen by 60 % of our lake visitors) and other lakeside wildlife such as
caiman, hoatzin and horned screamers.
You will explore the lake with your naturalist guide to
see the resident Giant Otters, numerous monkeys of several different species,
caiman, giant arapaima fish, and fascinating colorful birds.
In addition to monkeys,
see pink river dolphins playing in the rivers, tamandua anteaters dangling from tree holes, macaw parrots flying overhead,
caiman lizards resting on branches, and black
caiman at the edge of the Amazon's tributaries.
We lunch down town then pay a visit to nearby lagoon to
see crocodiles and
caimans — we even feed them!
The animals you are likely to
see include the howler monkeys, squirrel monkeys, capuchins, tamarins, beautiful butterflies, and
caiman crocodilians.
You paddle canoes around the lake looking for lakeside wildlife such as hoatzin and
caiman, hoping to
see the otters which are infrequently
seen here.
Visitors have a good chance of
seeing wildlife, including monkeys, birds,
caimans, turtles, and capybaras.
