It's because I love wearing these

Anyways, my point is, that
seeing those classic staple
pieces in my
closet a few weeks back made me feel put together again — and they gave me a little pep
in my step — AND they allowed me to play with other
pieces I hadn't worn
in a while.
Innovation requires applying creativity within limitation (what you already have around), so forcing yourself to
seeing those
pieces in different combinations encourages you to become innovative within your own
closet.
After
seeing a yellow and turquoise color block inspiration outfit from Marie last week, I realized that I already had the
pieces in my
closet to create this bold and fun combo.
I rarely wear it since it is such a statement
piece but I always get excited when I
see it
in the
closet.
So fun to

pieces are already

When I first
saw it on the runway my jaw dropped and never
in a million years did the idea cross my mind that it would end up
in my
closet, as it seemed to me to be one of these
pieces that are so high above your reach, that it can only be a dream to own it and you just have to conform yourself with
seeing it on others.
When I was looking through this month's issues, I
saw a lot of trends that reminded me of
pieces I have
in my
closet and outfits I've already worn!
This is the first time I'm wearing it and I can
see that it will become one of my favourite
pieces in my
closet.
Already you can
see that once you take inventory of your
closet and put together the basic
pieces and a few key accessories
in your
closet, you have quite a few outfit options.
And naturally there also were several
pieces I would like to
see hanging
in my
closet in the near future!
Often times, I find myself investing
in a dressier
piece for a special occasion and then said
piece gets relegated to the back of my
closet never to be
seen again.
I do have similar
pieces in my
closet though so perhaps I'll
see if it can work of me too hehe
Again, I like to wear nature colors so it will not make it hard to
see if a
piece will work
in my
closet.
To be honest, I didn't expect to love this Banana Republic blouse as much as I do, given my penchant for bright colors and patterns, but it's already one of my favorite
pieces of the season — and an example of where I
see my
closet headed
in the coming months.
After
seeing this pin again (that rhymes), I decided to make a concerted effort to try to put this outfit together from similar
pieces in my
closet.
Then I
saw this outfit, and I knew I had enough
pieces already
in my
closet to recreate it!
You don't necessarily have to buy exactly what you
see in a magazine or on a blogger, but if you are drawn to the way they style make note of it and attempt it with
pieces from your
closet!
But after a while we begin to play favorites; casting our coveted
pieces in recurring roles while tops that were once the apple of our eye silently slip into the back of our
closet, never to be
seen again.
I truly love what's
in my
closet right now, and other than a few seasonal
pieces I'll likely need to replace next year, I don't
see myself doing any major overhauls
in the foreseeable future.
Take
pieces that you know won't work with your bump and put them away so you don't have to
see them
in your
closet.
It's a whole other story to
see how you might combine one
piece with existing items
in your
closet.
I realize that blush pink could qualify as a spring color, but I bought this jacket because I
saw a lack of colored outerwear
in my
closet and fell
in love with the
piece first and the color second.
It was fun to
see how these
pieces might work with the items already
in my
closet.
But when I
saw these neutral toned
pieces in my
closet, I thought of giving a shot at something new and packed them for my PFW journey.
Instead of opting for the first thing you
see in your
closet, plan your outfit out the night before so you have time to select
pieces that make you feel good.
Every single time I look
in my
closet I
see fun Stitch Fix
pieces and still look forward to adding more each month.
