At BCF's flagship schools, Brighter Choice
for Girls and Brighter Choice
for Boys, 3rd and 4th graders have been outperforming their
district counterparts almost from the beginning on the statewide English language arts and mathematics exams (
see Figure 1
for the 2009 test
results).

district saw that their special education population responded better to learning through three - dimensional education resources in biology and experienced a big increase in proficiency attainment, whereas the rest of their student body did not experience those same

seen stronger outcomes among low - income black and Latino students since implementing interventions focused on learning mindsets.34 Equal Opportunity Schools, a national nonprofit organization, has also partnered with school, county, and
district leaders to increase the number of black and Latino students enrolled in advanced placement courses and has
seen gains in both participation and passage rates as a
result.35 In addition, several studies show that learning mindsets interventions can reduce the effects of stereotype threat among female, black, and Latino students in math and science classes.36
See two examples of effectively integrating literacy education: an elementary school
district where integrated literacy programs are having real
results across its 44 schools (two - thirds of which are Title 1) and a high school whose literacy coaching program is now a model
for other programs nationwide.

see progress between last year's tests and this year's assessments, the state is redesigning its CAASPP public reporting website to allow viewers to
see results for 2014 - 15 and 2015 - 16 side - by - side
for schools,
districts, counties and the state.

result of State policy increasing funds and policy supports
for public school choice programs that are operated by separate, non-traditional school
districts such as CREC and charter
