get some quick comparisons between this
flick and the 1936 original and also
see some interesting outtakes, like one in which Covert
got knocked unconscious.
It's not that hard to cobble together a 10 - best documentary list every year if you watch a decent amount of nonfiction
flicks — and thanks to HBO, Netflix and a number of distributors still willing to
get them out to a moviegoing public, you've arguably never had a better chance to
see them en masse.
Jasira is sent off to live with her Lebanese Dad in one of those eerie «dream suburbs» indie American
flicks can't
get enough of (think The Chumscrubber, American Beauty or «Weeds»), and it this kind of setting has an instant shorthand — you

So far this fest has been very interesting for me, honestly a bit more unexciting than previous years, but like I said, I'm glad to
see that two of my favorite
flicks will
get distribution, because that means all of you guys will be able to
see them eventually and that's the most important part.
I'm glad to
see the marketing start ramping up in a big way for this
flick, because it needs all the love it can
get, and it's one of my most anticipated movies before the summer hits.
If you don't always want to know what you're going to
get and like to be surprised occasionally, then check out Donnie Darko today: it is quite simply the best science fiction movie I have
seen since 1998's Dark City, and the best horror
flick since The Others...
Very cool to
see you mention FLCL as an influence on Scott Pilgrim — I definitely
got that vibe while watching the
flick, and specifically mentioned so when persuading my brother to check it out (he's a huge fan, joking that the world's divided up into two kinds of people: those who «
get» FLCL and those who don't).
Yes, we've
seen this mad dash to
get one's hands on a MacGuffin in many, many action
flicks before (Hello, Guardians of the Galaxy, Avengers, X-Men, and anything else with a Marvel / DC label), but it seems a bit excusable here since such storytelling devices are ingrained in what Star Trek is all about.
An epic, post-apocalyptic
flick needs a stalwart vehicle, and an updated version of The Landmaster could
get me into a darkened theater simply to
see it in action.
An interest in France and its colonial legacy may be helpful in
getting the best out of
seeing this but the equivalent is happening here.It is far better than the 2dimensional British crime
flick as it alludes to the ever changing face of France and how one fits in when we all have multiple identities and in fact has some similarities to Michael Haneke's «Hidden».
