We are passing Chimurenga Street where we've already harvested every guava tree, maybe like two — three weeks ago when
we see white curtains part and a face peer from a window of the cream home with the marble statue of the urinating naked boy with wings.

white noise... we put your blanket in the crib...» then we turn off the lights and say, «Oh look, it's still safe in the dark!
Oh, and those

We put them in airplane mode, we set the alarms, we put out, you know,
white noise kind of thing already on low so that when we come upstairs, light are already off,

You can
see in daylight that I have ivory
curtain panels on the left window and
white panels on the other.
At night there's a rain and thunderstorm, but when we open the
curtains next morning the sun is shining and we have a gorgeous view: between palmtrees we
see a bright
white beach and a blue sea.
My respect was deepened by
seeing the layers in the painting's palimpsest, always mediated by
curtains of
white in various degrees of creaminess and brilliance.
Even more to the point is the set of
white curtains that covers a large swath of the main gallery; look closely, and you'll
see a clear vinyl silhouette attached to it, as well as a swarm of insects printed on the
curtains themselves.
By pulling back the
curtain and revealing that we don't necessarily
see things from the same angle but are always open to each other's perspective, my wife and I teach our kids lessons about openness, compromise, gray area vs. black - and -
white, and — here's a biggie — the value of persuasion as opposed to whining and begging.
If you have a shower
curtain, buyers will pull it back to
see the condition of the tub, so clean all the grout until it is
white.
As a side note, you can
see in that old photo above that I had the same antique stained glass WAY BACK THEN (on the other side of that same kitchen with the blue and
white curtains!)
Also glad to
see you kept the beige
curtains in place of the
white ones... room looks great and very inviting.
