The aversion to
seeing moms breastfeed their own kids goes way back, it seems.
When
I see a mom breastfeeding her child, I think it's such a beautiful thing.
I have spent a lot of time in France and didn't
see any moms breastfeeding in public while I was there.
Occasionally, a guest in the office is surprised to
see a mom breastfeeding at her desk.
I had never been to a La Leche League meeting... I didn't really have any close breastfeeding mama friends yet at the time, and I hadn't really ever
seen a mom breastfeeding her child.
I have to admit, though, I do still feel a disappointing sting when
I see a mom breastfeeding or hear that someone has SO MUCH MILK she had to buy a deep freeze to hold it all.
Which is why I think it's a good idea for older kids to
see moms breastfeeding.
But the simplicity of this concept seems lost on a lot of people who complain when
they see a mom breastfeeding in public.
Yesterday,
I saw a mom breastfeeding a small baby on a bench at the park.
Not exact matches
I can't
see why
breastfeeding should force
Moms to be behind closed doors.
I have been on planes and unless you are standing over top of the
breastfeeding mom you will not
see the nipple.
But considering when out and about I
see way, way more babies getting bottles than being nursed, and the stats that show the majority of
moms use bottles and formula at some point, I have to wonder, WHO is giving the judgmental looks to bottlefeeding
moms??? The tiny minority who manage to exclusively
breastfeed?
If they
see mom, auntie, or
mom's friend regularly
breastfeeding a baby, chances are they at some point will try to do the same.
It seems her
breastfeeding was interrupted when she
saw a piece of bacon on her
mom's plate and opted for that instead of breast milk.
I am a
breastfeeding advocate and it feels great to
see companies that are dedicated to supporting
moms that would like to
breastfeed.
Struggling to keep up with the demands of
breastfeeding, I felt like anyone who
saw me using a bottle would think I'd failed or that I was bad at being a
mom.
I've never
seen a
mom let it all hang out when
breastfeeding.

moms should begin
seeing signs of normal milk production.
You can
see that there's so many different positions that
moms breastfeed in and you can talk with them about it.
I spoke with a few other
moms to
see how they felt when they discovered they couldn't really
breastfeed.
Mothers who are not fully educated about
breastfeeding and / or know little about the help lactation consultants can provide, mother's who are first time parents and / or very anxious and nervous
moms often are the ones I
see following pediatritians strict instructions.

I am sure that
seeing pictures of my
mom breastfeeding me as a baby highly influenced my decision, and my husband was very supportive, as well.
Just going out in public it's not uncommon to
see several
breastfeeding and baby - wearing
moms & dads, so it's easy to meet like - minded parents, even when we're not at an API meeting!
And the older child would
see Mom sitting down on the couch to
breastfeed as a cue to run and get her picture books.

I asked the Leakies on Facebook to send me pictures of their little ones copying their
moms by pretending to «
breastfeed» their «babies» to
see if I could get a better grasp on the concern about children pretending to
breastfeed.
In many societies, children grow up
seeing their
moms and aunts and friends
breastfeed, and the knowledge and awareness about how to breast feed is naturally passed down from generation to generation.

Nothing is more confidence building for a
breastfeeding mom (or a mother - to - be that is trying to decide whether or not to
breastfeed) than to
see a baby happily nursing!
Though figures show that more
moms are
breastfeeding toddlers, it is still not
seen as normal in most areas.

But often I
see moms so stressed out about
breastfeeding that they are hunched over trying to force a latch in the first 2 minutes!
When you consider all of the advantages of
breastfeeding, especially the health and bonding benefits, you will
see breastfeeding really is easier for working
moms in the long run.
It's beautiful because it's a
mom breastfeeding her baby, I actually can't
see much of the
mom its mainly a picture of the baby, but the big deal is that this baby was born with cancer and so, born with cancer, yeah, like I mean totally horrid kind of situation.

Apparently she was a floor that had nothing to do with
moms or babies, and so the nurse felt that you know people coming on to that floor wouldn't be expecting to
see a woman
breastfeeding and therefore may feel really uncomfortable.

When I'm out and about, a lot of
moms do a double take when they
see other
moms breastfeeding, I feel like if they
saw images like this when they're out and about it wouldn't make it so weird or taboo.
So the media and most mainstream people are going to want to
see that the
mom did make attempts to try and rectify the situation privately between themselves and the establishment; by giving them the proper time to grant a response, and apology and a promise to train employees according to
breastfeeding laws.
I was
breastfeed as a baby and not for extremely long I think for like four months but my
mom was always very pro
breastfeeding but now when I
see her, because like I said I'm still feeding my twins imp still
breastfeeding my twins and so she kind of gives me that «Are you done yet» kind of look like really you got to whip those out and it's not that she is modest, she is not modest or anything like that.
She
saw a need for a one - stop - shop for support, services and products to help new
moms meet their personal
breastfeeding goals and their needs as a new
mom.
While we understand that it's an adjustment to
see a baby at work, and perhaps even an additional adjustment to
see a baby
breastfeeding at work, it is our priority to ensure that
moms and babies are together.
Yes, ideally, we would all probably LOVE to
see those mothers
breastfeeding their children; but let's think about what that
mom's day might look like.
