A bill released Tuesday by Gov. Andrew Cuomo and sent to state lawmakers would ban employers in New York from
seeking wage and salary histories from prospective employees, a move designed to curtail the pay gap between men and women.
The measure is aimed at building on Cuomo's previous executive order that prohibits state entities from
seeking wage and salary information during the hiring process.
