seen Buckaroo Banzai?!?!? My jaw has literally dropped off, it's the perfect way to end the film madness, the end credits are the best ever created in the entire universe!

I can
see why people might enjoy bits of it like Quaid's cheesy robotic performance and the minor visual gags dotted throughout, but end of the day this really feels like its trying to achieve what «The Adventures of
Buckaroo Banzai» achieved.
Granted, I'm also not sure if this movie is aimed squarely at me or if I'm the last person who should
see it: the screenplay by Zak Penn and Ernest Cline (based on Cline's novel) seems to be weaponizing my own personal nostalgia for John Hughes, Monty Python, «
Buckaroo Banzai» and other objects of obsession from my late teens and early 20s.
