Snowpiercer, his latest hit, is an even bigger, bolder move than we saw from his countryman Park Chan - wook who went from directing the OG Oldboy to last year's ravishing Stoker.

Oldboy reinvented the fight scene and while it the boundaries have been pushed to extreme lengths since then (see the Raid or Atomic Blonde), the origins of this style of cinema can easily return to Park Chan - wook's masterpiece.

Having tons of tweets on Park Chan - Wook I realized that by some illogical reason I had yet to see this film that was a part of his Vengeance Trilogy, and with Oldboy and Sympathy for Lady Vengeance being two of my favourite revenge / Korean films, I guessed it would a good idea to complete the set.

This looks to have all of the good character development seen in Chan - wook's Korean cinema (Oldboy, Thirst, JSA).

By now, you would have seen the official poster for Spike Lee's adaptation of the Oldboy manga, made famous by Park Chan - wook's classic film of the same name and based on the same source material.
