This is an amazing game, the graphics are fantastic and the gameplay is just one of the best ive
seen in a platformer.
Whilst it could be argued that it doesn't offer much you wouldn't have
seen in a platformer before, it never feels like a copy - paste job thanks to the charming touches the developers have added to every inch of the gameplay, art style and level design.
Woodle Tree Adventures features the worst control scheme and responsiveness I've
seen in a platformer ever since the early days of the genre.
Not exact matches
The designs were nice, it proved to be challenging, and it used some nice dynamic camera angles that I hadn't
seen before
in a 2D
platformer.
Most of them take themes that I have never
seen in a 2D
platformer before, from a world that looks like it was taken straight out of various European countries to a jungle that's also a fruit processing plant.
After the first dual - layered
platformer launched
in January 2012 on the 3DS, it later
saw ports to various other systems and a spin - off sequel
in 2016.
Unless a game was run on PC and not sold on a gaming
platformer like Steam, you will never
see kids
in video games where the player can kill them.
Games like Cuphead, Super Meat Boy, Celeste, and a slew of other fantastic games are leading the way for
platformers in 2018, and I couldn't help but want to
see Nintendo inject some of the same originality found
in those games, but nonetheless, the game is still a solid
platformer and has the heart of a classic Nintendo
platformer.
Angry Video Game Nerd Adventures could have easily been developed as a simple cash -
in on the popular AVGN character, but instead FreakZone has provided gamers with one of the best old school style
platformers that we've
seen in recent years.
Something we haven't

in the way of Dreamcast titles, Intrepid Izzy is a 2D
platformer with a bit of a Kid Chameleon twist, where Izzy can unlock different costumes, which give her new abilities.

platformers on the classic Nintendo or Sega consoles, but
in the growing future we
see Xbox Live Arcade as a platform for that genre.
I've got both on pre-order, of course... I'm just anxious to
see what's next for Mario on the Wii U: We'll already have 2,5 mario

Lovingly crafted by a pairing of father and daughter, Super Chibi Knight is an RPG action
platformer that takes the imagination of an eight - year old child and generously wraps it around some of the most pixel - perfect gameplay the genre has
seen in a long time.
It's always nice to
see games reach a broader audience and this title is one of the best puzzle
platformers I've played
in a while.
The level design
in the game is easily the best I have
seen for a

seen such violence

Media Molecule are of course known for bringing creativity and imagination to the forefront of our minds, so creating a
platformer with a set story was always going to be a risk; with the multiplayer experience that was LittleBigPlanet creativity was easy to
see in their level creation tools, and how this would work within a
platformer I was initially unsure.
While main progression has you going from stage to stage and exploring platforms and avoiding dangerous obstacles, Celeste does have a few unique things that you don't necessarily
see in your run - of - the - mill 2D
platformers.

A fairly simple
platformer that offers a very unique insight into a culture and it's mythology that I have never
seen expressed
in a game before.

platformer reminiscent of games like Shadow Complex, the visual style
in Deadlight is unique as everything is shrouded
in dark shadows, similar to what is
seen in Playdead's Limbo.
The main draw of the game is that even though it's a JRPG even though it's not made
in J, it's heavy emphasis on noir storytelling and a hardboiled detective atmosphere is something rarely
seen in gaming amidst all the nostalgia bait 2D
platformers of the 21st century and modern military games.
I still highly recommend it to anybody into
platformers and if you start with this one, I hope you go back to
see what inspired it cause this one is definitely a gem
in the Sonic franchise.

in the IGC!
