Longshot had only been

artist accepted a project in a genre they didn't normally work with.
As for
cover artists, if you're lucky you'll get assigned a good one, but what I've been
seeing from major houses these days — okay, let me put it this way, in romance at least, I've
seen A LOT of the no royalty art you can buy for $ 25 or so on the
covers of the recent ones.
The thought of looking up
cover artists for my self pub stuff made me run for the remote so I could catch L&O: SVU in time to
see Stabler throw his fist through a wall.
I'll admit that when I first
saw this book, I wondered if the
artist and author had taken a risk with this
cover.
If you're fortunate enough to find a
cover artist you'd like to work with, talk to that person, explain your goals, ask them their rates, and
see if you can work something out.
Which brings me to my next tip — if you
see a
cover you like on Amazon, check the book's copyright page which usually credits the
cover artist.
I
see a flatter business model — where specialisms are outsourced to smaller companies that can offer specific services (
see above — the big company with the best editors doesn't necessarily have the best
cover artists), and nothing is more than one step from the author 3.

cover artist gives you an example of your
cover as small and gray, because that's how many readers will
see it on e-ink devices.

see no real synopsises for the stories.

artists but what they got was a very nice piece of art that works better as shelf camouflage than as a

When Time Magazine made its feature «How China
Sees The World» the
cover story of this week's issue, it chose controversial Chinese dissident
artist Ai WeiWei to create the amazing image accompanying it.
We've
seen plenty of facial manipulations over the years, from makeup
artists transforming their faces into album
covers to the tool that manipulates faces in YouTube videos to say whatever you want.
Best of all, from my point of view, his talent and production are so ingrained that he has no reason to disguise his influences,
seen in recent work to include Grant Wood and the Dutch
artist Meindert Hobbema, whose The Avenue at Middelharnis (1689) informed his recent New Yorker
cover.
I have never
seen a larger gathering of work by great contemporary
artists, with many I have previously
covered in this column, including Lori Ellison, Tom Evans, Gabriele Evertz, Bruce Gagnier, Dana Gordon, Ronnie Landfield, Loren Munk, Carolanna Parlato, Peter Reginato, Paul Resika, Lars Swan, Kim Uchiyama, Don Voisine, Louisa Waber, John Walker, and Thornton Willis.

I had never really admired a living
artist as much as I did dead ones until I
saw Mark's work on the
cover of Juxtapoz magazine in 1998.
And reading from Here with me (2016), a video work that is shown on a large screen in the middle of the room, where the
artist himself is
seen trapped in a hostile place, only
covered in a piece of fabric and kidnapped by a faceless villain, it's the love and the ties between friends that saves the day.

cover — were discovered by Charles Saatchi, who supported her for 18 months before exhibiting the results as part of Young British
Artists III when she was 23.
I have my
