To connect directly to a computer,
select the Connect to Server option in Nautilus instead and enter the path to the remote computer like so: smb: / / COMPUTERNAME
Open the Finder, click Go on the menu at the top of the screen, and
select Connect to Server.
If you're using Ubuntu or another GNOME - based desktop environment with the Nautilus file manager, launch the file manager, click the File menu and
select Connect to Server.

to select a
server to join and your hub area will be packed with several other tiny avatars running around.
Select that and click «Add»
to see a list of available
servers you can
connect to.
Enter a name
to help you remember which VPN is which into the Name field,
select the type of VPN
server you're
connecting to, and enter the VPN
server's address (either an address like vpn.example.com or a numerical IP address).
The options (shown by three dots or ellipses) give you a number of
servers across the world out of which, you can
select one and even make it your favorite so that you don't have
to browse every time you want
to connect to that
server.
