but, im ok with this vardy transfer... it shows us many things: 1) wenger is changing, something some of us have been demanding for a long time; 2) it shows that wenger is taking risks: think about it, he is buying a men for a not cheap price, knowing he could not getting anything after, with a future sell i mean... this is an act that shows wengers intentions to win something, the buy is not motivated by any financial or economic reason but only for a «get the f epl once again» reason... this is an act that shows us hungry, even if we fail, we could said we try... first ever, we really try; 3) finally but very important... vardy is the kind of player we need... he is a warrior, a fighter... he has character... look at how he celebrate his goals... full of energy... he, like alexis, can motivate the team when the things are not going in our way (something wenger cant do because of his age and because he has never been an active coach on the pitch)... the vardy transfer, if it finish well, is a demostration of a change, and a good one... lets take care of winning things and do nt look the economic side for once... vardy is a bit old, but we can give a chance to welbeck after maybe, or akpom... u are not thinking about the future when we talk about ibra... guys: u complain when wenger do nt spend or because he is always looking for the bargain when u are the guys who has to pay the very expensive tickets... u complain when wenger buy the always for the future guy... like morata... stop to complain for everything and be consequent with yourself... i would love auba, but it is not going to happen... lukaku is awesome but the asking price is stupid... lets try with vardy, give us the throphy..

Up front we have a few world - class players surrounded by some serious pretenders... Sanchez is by far the most accomplished player in our attack but the controversy surrounding his contractual mishandling could see him go before the window closes or most definitely by season's end... obviously a mistake by both parties involved, as Sanchez's exploits have never been more on display than in North London, but the club's irresponsible wage structure and lack of real intent have been the real undoing in this mess... Lacazette, who I think has some world - class skills as a front man, will only be as good as the players and system around him, which is troubling due to our current roster and Wenger's love of sideways passing... Walcott should have been sold years ago, enough said, and Welbeck should never have been brought in from the get - go... both of these players have suffered numerous injuries over their respective careers and neither are good enough to overcome such difficulties: not to mention, they both are below average first - touch players, which should be the baseline test for any player coming to a Wenger - led Arsenal team... Perez should have been played wide left or never purchased at all; what a huge waste of time and money, which is ridiculous considering our penny pinching ways and the fact that fans had been clamoring for a real striker for years... finally Giroud, the fact that he stills wears the jersey is a direct indictment of this club's failure to get things right... this isn't necessarily an attack on Giroud because I think he has some highly valued skills, but not for a team that has struggled to take their sideways soccer to the next level, as his presence slows their game even more, combined with our average, at best, finishing skills... far too often those in charge have either settled or chosen half - measures and ultimately it is us that suffer because no matter what happens Wenger, Gazidis and Kroenke will always make more money whereas we will always be the ones paying for their mistakes... so every time someone suggests we should just shut - up and support the team just think of all the sacrifices you've made along the way and simply reply... f *** off
First, they take the best young prospect we have produced in a long time in Gnarby and now I read in a German article that Bayern will offer 35 million because they think Arsenal will not want to sell to a PL team.

When the old guard led by David Dein sold us the vision, we trusted them to make it happen, we voted with our wallets, Kroenke came in and stole, and is still stealing that dream from us with Wenger as a convenient scape goat while our commonwealth is being raided, the sad part is that the situation has seen the spuds steal the template of that dream, and so far so good for them, a bigger club would have implemented it faster though but still, they are on course and at this rate, while we watch after our coffers, a small pub team like the spuds will overtake us, for the first time in the Premier League era, they finished above us, a situation not conceivable previously, shows how much the institution Arsenal has deteriorated in recent times.
Can't chuba akpom come from bench... i wud feel we shud give kid a chance... plus if we are to go 4 a «WC» striker we should first sell giroud... coz den he is of no use... coz wud prefer walcot any time coz of his pace and welbz coz he can hold up the ball in front «like» giroud plus he is a better runner nd confident his striking can only get better... 4 me giroud is of no use to dis team coz we are developing into more of a counter-attacking type wid help player like coq available... so better first get a DM which shud be our prime requirement....
This is an incredibly difficult question to answer for a variety of reasons, most importantly because over the years our once vaunted «beautiful» style of play has become a shadow of it's former self, only to be replaced by a less than stellar «plug and play» mentality where players play out of position and adjustments / substitutions are rarely forthcoming before the 75th minute... if you look at our current players, very few would make sense in the traditional Wengerian system... at present, we don't have the personnel to move the ball quickly from deep - lying position, efficient one touch midfielders that can make the necessary through balls or the disciplined and pacey forwards to stretch defences into wide positions, without the aid of the backs coming up into the final 3rd, so that we can attack the defensive lanes in the same clinical fashion we did years ago... on this current squad, we have only 1 central defender on staf, Mustafi, who seems to have any prowess in the offensive zone or who can even pass two zones through so that we can advance play quickly out of our own end (I have seen some inklings that suggest Holding might have some offensive qualities but too early to tell)... unfortunately Mustafi has a tendency to get himself in trouble when he gets overly aggressive on the ball... from our backs out wide, we've seen pace from the likes of Bellerin and Gibbs and the spirited albeit offensively stunted play of Monreal, but none of these players possess the skill - set required in the offensive zone for the new Wenger scheme which requires deft touches, timely runs to the baseline and consistent crossing, especially when Giroud was playing and his ratio of scored goals per clear chances was relatively low (better last year though)... obviously I like Bellerin's future prospects, as you can't teach pace, but I do worry that he regressed last season, which was obvious to Wenger because there was no way he would have used Ox as the right side wing - back so often knowing that Barcelona could come calling in the off - season, if he thought otherwise... as for our midfielders, not a single one, minus the more confident Xhaka I watched played for the Swiss national team a couple years ago, who truly makes sense under the traditional Wenger model... Ramsey holds onto the ball too long, gives the ball away cheaply far too often and abandons his defensive responsibilities on a regular basis (doesn't score enough recently to justify): that being said, I've always thought he does possess a little something special, unfortunately he thinks so too... Xhaka is a little too slow to ever boss the midfield and he tends to telegraph his one true strength, his long ball play: although I must admit he did get a bit better during some points in the latter part of last season... it always made me wonder why whenever he played with Coq Wenger always seemed to play Francis in a more advanced role on the pitch... as for Coq, he is way too reckless at the wrong times and has exhibited little offensive prowess yet finds himself in and around the box far too often... let's face it Wenger was ready to throw him in the trash heap when injuries forced him to use Francis and then he had the nerve to act like this was all part of a bigger Wenger constructed plan... he like Ramsey, Xhaka and Elneny don't offer the skills necessary to satisfy the quick transitory nature of our old offensive scheme or the stout defensive mindset needed to protect the defensive zone so that our offensive players can remain aggressive in the final third... on the front end, we have Ozil, a player of immense skill but stunted by his physical demeanor that tends to offend, the fact that he's been played out of position far too many times since arriving and that the players in front of him, minus Sanchez, make little to no sense considering what he has to offer (especially Giroud); just think about the quick counter-attack offence in Real or the space and protection he receives in the German National team's midfield, where teams couldn't afford to focus too heavily on one individual... this player was a passing «specialist» long before he arrived in North London, so only an arrogant or ignorant individual would try to reinvent the wheel and / or not surround such a talent with the necessary components... in regards to Ox, Walcott and Welbeck, although they all possess serious talents I see them in large part as headless chickens who are on the injury table too much, lack the necessary first - touch and / or lack the finishing flair to warrant their inclusion in a regular starting eleven; I would say that, of the 3, Ox showed the most upside once we went to a back 3, but even he became a bit too consumed by his pending contract talks before the season ended and that concerned me a bit... if I had to choose one of those 3 players to stay on it would be Ox due to his potential as a plausible alternative to Bellerin in that wing - back position should we continue to use that formation... in Sanchez, we get one of the most committed skill players we've seen on this squad for some years but that could all change soon, if it hasn't already of course... strangely enough, even he doesn't make sense given the constructs of the original Wenger offensive model because he holds onto the ball too long and he will give the ball up a little too often in the offensive zone... a fact that is largely forgotten due to his infectious energy and the fact that the numbers he has achieved seem to justify the means... finally, and in many ways most crucially, Giroud, there is nothing about this team or the offensive system that Wenger has traditionally employed that would even suggest such a player would make sense as a starter... too slow, too inefficient and way too easily dispossessed... once again, I think he has some special skills and, at times, has showed some world - class qualities but he's lack of mobility is an albatross around the necks of our offence... so when you ask who would be our best starting 11, I don't have a clue because of the 5 or 6 players that truly deserve a place in this side, 1 just arrived, 3 aren't under contract beyond 2018 and the other was just sold to Juve... man, this is theraputic because following this team is like an addiction to heroin without the benefits
I for one think he can be replaced with someone more efficient. We need someone who's also good with his feet and not a one dimensional player.I wouldn't even care if we sold Welbeck too as he's shown from his time here he can't finish. If Arsenal were serious we wouldn't have signed him in the first place along with Giroud. But since they're here and we are Arsenal fans let's pretend they're good enough. The only real CF in Arsenal is Lacazette, the rest are not good enough. They're just here out of Wenger's kindness.
Alex Oxlade - Chamberlain forced Arsene Wenger to sell him to Liverpool in the summer, and with him due to come back to the Emirates tomorrow for the first time since his departure, Jurgen Klopp has been asked about how he has progressed since leaving Arsenal, and he thinks that Wenger wasn't using the midfielder in his best positions.
that, s why i, ll be happy with 1 or 2 signings!lalso people throw names of players we should buy like aubameyang... very naive, transfers are complicated & take time, first we need the club to want to sell their best goalscorer mid season.....
The only closest player to Cazorla in terms of technical ability and intelligence is Jack Wilshere yet people want him sold because he's not world class as if those playing there are world class.I hope Wilshere is given the opportunity to challenge for the CM because with a run of games I believe he can put in better performances than Ramsey and Xhaka.Wilshere is a very intelligent player who can vary his game to play with anyone in the centre.I also hope Cazorla comes back quickly. We need the Coqzorla partnership back again.Xhaka won't stand the test of time in this Arsenal lineup because if he's a CM then he's not doing enough or if he's a DM he can't defend. He'll be surpsssed in the future unless Wenger continues to do him a favour like he's already doing. He's a massivel overrated player and it's debatable if he's the kind of player we needed in the first place before signing him.
I've had enough of this crap, look I honesty do think giroud is a good striker and he is a fairly consistant goal scorer, and every time he played for arsenal he gave 100 percent and I think we all appreciated the way he was, a true professional, but to say we as fans were too critical of him or that he didn't have enough of a chance at arsenal is just absolute bullshit, first of all he has scored more headed goals than any other player in the prem since he arrived in 2012 so we did play to his strengths and he was our main striker for four long years and every pundit on sky and motd has at one point said Giroud is not enough for arsenal to win the title ect, but, now we have sold him he is apparently the best thing since sliced bread and the best buy of the transfer window blah blah fuc * # * g blah.
If only he had offeres a realistic bid the first time he could have got Lemar early as well then sold Sanchez and recouped most of the outlay of Lemar and had the whole pre season to integrate those new signings.
If I wanted to sell Welbeck to a rich buyer in this transfer window (and yes I want to, because he's too inefficient and Perez delivered better end product numbers), then the first thing I'd do is give Welbeck more visibility on the field, meaning more playing time and more of the team's ball.
It's going to be a massive loss but for first time in years I would trust that great players would come in instead not like years gone by like when Suarez was sold & although got good money no great players came in, big mistake!
Maksim you are 100 % percent right about Dan Petrescu's faith in youngsters. In just a few months he gave chances to Ivan Solovyov, Pavel Solomatin and Vladimir Sobolev to play in the first team.As for Mogilevets i think he will become and excellent player but not at Zenit. He needs to move elsewhere (and not on loan) to play first team football like Ionov did a few years ago.In my opoinion Zenit needs a striker (if they sell Hulk to AS Monaco) to score goals.Kerzhakov is not at his best, Bukharov has forgotten when was the last time he score and Dordevic is not gonna get a chance.I understand that midfielders of Zenit are all capable of scoring goals like Shirokov, Danny, Witsel, Bystrov and Fayzulin but thats striker's job and Zenit may lose a player on the filed. And something else, i was so impressed with Yuri Lodigin's performance against Krasnodar and maybe Zenit found a great replacement for Malafeev.
He is still young and more or less not going to have a problem playing every week at his present club, The new owner who is a Russian with plenty of money to spend on players has no need to sell and will spend the same sort of money we will and at moment the way Ithey are playing and the way we are they would have no trouble turning us over, We need to go back to grass roots which is what the majority want produce local talent and actually give them a chance in the first team, Play entertaining football all the time not respect the point (they will come if you play well) There is talent all over the world we need to find it, Howe is showing the way and in years to come may be a great England Manager but not for us right now and if I was him I would stay put
