While most of the
studies and general consensus of
dog ownership as a
senior is positive — as with anything
in life their are some risks and downsides to owning a
dog as a
senior.
Other
studies with S - Adenosyl - l - methionine (SAMe), a liver supplement, have resulted
in improvement
in activity and awareness
in senior dogs.
Purina research scientist Dr. Brian Zanghi points out, «Nutrition
studies have shown that properly feeding to ideal body condition can play a big role
in an older
dog's wellness and longevity, but estimating a

dog body condition score to its estimate body fat condition and lean mass is difficult and not well defined.
