In addition to working to save animals locally — either from area shelters or by owner surrender — they help educate people about senior dogs by providing information about senior dog health, nutrition, hospice care, and resources for financial help with veterinary expenses.

Animal Rescue League of Boston (ARL) Law Enforcement Services is working with police in Ware, MA, to discover who was responsible for dumping a blind and deaf senior dog along Route 9, while ARL's Shelter Veterinary Services are working hard to give this poor girl a second chance at life.

ODND started coming together in January 2016, when a group of friends in Maine's animal rescue community saw a need for focusing on getting senior dogs out of shelters and into loving foster and forever homes as quickly as possible.
