They treated the
images as though they were parts
of a giant geological jigsaw puzzle, with ridges and bands and other features that have been split and
separated by crustal movements, and tried to trace how the
surface of Europa had transformed over time.
Sometimes Wood also experiments with the idea
of collage, superimposing objects over others or simply playing with the distortion
of images by creating the illusion
of separate or fragmented painted canvas
surfaces brought together in one, such as in Still Life Collage, 2015.
Somehow, whilst these flat
images were meant to represent the same two people «inside» the car, on the car's
surface they existed as a
separate cast
of characters — their front, back and side «versions».
