Downtown, David Zwirner Gallery will present Ruff's new
series of
photographs entitled
Nudes.
This substantial Ruff overview accompanies a major retrospective survey at the Whitechapel Gallery in London, and contains all of his most renowned
series, including portraits, disasters, sky and cityscapes, internet
nudes, photograms, manga images, magnetically generated images and found press
photographs.

During the 80s, Mapplethorpe produced a
series of
photographs that simultaneously challenge and adhere to classical aesthetic standards: stylized compositions of male and female

Her newest
series of
photographs, The Swimming Pool, documents multiple subjects over the course of many years as they gracefully swim
nude in her backyard pool.
