After Cole's death in 1848, Asher B. Durand (1796 — 1886), President
of the highly influential National
Academy of Design, took over as leader
of the Hudson River
School, and in the late 1850s published a
series of «Letters on Landscape Painting» outlining the attributes
of the
School's signature style
of idealized naturalism.
Sharon is a faculty member in the MFA program at the
School of Visual Arts in New York and a senior critic at the New York
Academy of Art where she organizes a popular lecture
series interviewing luminaries and exceptional individuals in the art world and from afar.
Some
