And that's important, because despite being a fairly
serious film about love, loss and family, «Kubo and the Two Strings» goes about telling its simple but layered story with such child - like optimism that it resonates even stronger as a result.

film swimming in sex, violence, poetry, philosophy and swanky visuals in such extremes that it always seems to be on the verge of becoming utterly ridiculous but it somehow never goes over the edge into camp because of Schrader's
serious - minded handling of the material; it may be nonsense but he never treats it as such.
This female - centric
film with a music - centric plot hits all the right notes, balancing humor with drama while tackling
serious issues
about love and what it truly means.
This
film makes you really feel for Tommy, even though many (including me) consider «The Room» to be the best so bad it's good
film of all - time, the man was very
serious about the
film and I
loved how instead of them making a
film mocking Tommy for his weirdness, this is a celebration of Tommy.
He rounded out the 90's with the title role in George of the Jungle, a
serious dramatic role in the superb
film Gods and Monsters
about the director James Whale and a flirtation he has with the Fraser character, and another supremely underrated comedy, Blast from the Past,
about a man who emerges from a bomb shelter after 35 years and falls in
love with Alicia Silverstone.
