This report describes our assessment of HISD's strengths and areas in need of improvement with respect to its special education program, and identifies recommendations for HISD to consider as it continues its efforts to
improve services for students with disabilities in the district
If a school district determines through the evaluation and IEP process that it can not adequately provide the necessary
services for a student with disabilities in its school system, then that child could be placed by the IEP team in a private school, with all the protections of IDEA and at no cost to the student's family.
So, K - 12 public education costs more than parents are paying for daycare and preschool, which is reasonable given that K - 12 education is a more resource - intensive activity, teachers typically make more, and the K - 12 dollar figure includes spending
on services for students with disabilities.

Admissions Coordinator Jennifer Friesen says, «All RPC students are able to use
the services for students with disabilities offered through TWU, including access to the Learning Resource Centre and starting off their university career at TWU's Freshman Academy.»
Districts across the state and country are reimbursed for
some services for students with disabilities through the program.

services for students with disabilities, sharing best practices with District schools, and collaborating with District staff to provide quality educational experiences for all students.
That is that day schools deserve to have a level of services and I think a number of school districts have not provided the proper level of services, whether that's health care or
services for students with disabilities or the like; and I think that we actually do have to make sure that districts are providing the required services under the law of the State of Connecticut.
