my mother, [Italian, from Italy] used to make cookies very much like these but she rolled the balls in
sesame seeds then added jam [usually fig, guava or apricot] then they were baked.

sesame seeds, slice it thin, lay on a bed of baby greens with mandarin orange sections and cashews
then drizzle the dressing over the top.
