several power transmission lines from new and planned wind farms in the south - west.

Fault anticipators located at one end of the sagging
transmission line would have detected abnormal signals and redirected the
power flowing through and around the
line to isolate the disturbance
several hours before the
line would have failed.

power plant were operating at 50 % efficiency (which I think is actually high and ignores

What critics of renewable energy don't understand is that electricity systems operate as grids — networks of

power from
several sources across a region and then redistribute that
power.
