The severely affected puppy with no functional hip joints at 6 months of age is destined for a life of daily pain with minimal exercise.
Simply killing the worms will not be sufficient to save the life of
a severely affected puppy.

a severely affected puppy you may notice excessive drinking after only eight weeks of age.
