If you know about it ahead
of time, you can substitute gluten - free
pasta in almost any
shape, or use
dried beans or beads or whatever else you can think
of instead.
Set a bunch
of different objects — fruits,
dry pasta shapes, silverware, cooking utensils, plastic cups — on the table and ask your child to separate them into groups.
Dried farfalle, (bow -
shaped pasta), is also great for sticking on pictures - or you can use a whole range
of pasta shapes to help your toddler bring a picture alive.

of ground beef, browned (I cook mine in bulk ahead
