Because I started feeling nostalgic when I spotted those heart -
shaped cookies during my last visit to the grocery store, I decided to create my own healthier recipe when I returned home.

Tip: Don't over mix otherwise you'll incorporate too much air and the
cookies will spread
during baking, losing their
shape.
But I will say the chunks of chocolate bars always yield those melty, irresistible chocolate rivers inside and on top of the
cookie, and chips typically hold their
shape during baking.
Use your fingers to gently flatten and
shape the
cookies on the baking sheet as the their
shape does not change much
during baking.

shape perfectly
during baking.
If the
cookie dough becomes hard
during chilling, just break it up with a fork before pulling off portions and
shaping them.
This was partly done to make use of the otherwise idle
cookie cutters and partly just to jazz up a lunch, especially
during holiday times (dreidle -
shaped pb & j, anyone?).
