shared in life the same tormented cry; He had walked in His Way the same streets as I — Insane — I was never at a total loss; I KNEW the Blessed Mother choose my Cross In Her maternal love for me and for us all; THE IMMACULATE CONCEPTION — Conceived In LOVE such a Holy Cross for me; Through Mary Jesus was someone I could serve — She knew it was the Cross that I deserved And so did I — for over a quarter of a century I stood with Her at Calvary — a wretched sentry With the Communion of Saints, and Blessed Kateri Till Easter came for me

We can, and the Incarnation then becomes a symbol that emphasizes
in a beautiful
way several important Christian themes: (1) that God is here with us, not
in some far off dimension; (2) that God
loves us so much as to come seeking us out; and (3) that God does not merely sympathize with us but rather
shares in an important
way in the human condition.

sharing last night how a woman at my last church was talking about unconditional

love God and
love people unconditionally) that was a problem.

love that gives with no thought of return; eros, the
love that finds the beloved valuable, and philia, the
love that

in different
ways attest to the oneness of
love, so evident
in sexual union, as «that which drives everything that is towards everything else that is.»

sharing, adoration, spiritual formation / retreats, pilgramages, Mass, reconciliation, fasting, listening for God's voice, and more) on an ongoing fashion or done God's will (been obedient, patient, humble, unconditionally sacrificing, unselfish) to the extent that they understand what it means to be Catholic and God being your number one priority — that His
Ways and those of His Church are not the
ways of the world (trade vices for virtues) and that we are being called into communion with Him via

I lean towards the third view... but I admit it is the most difficult of the three views... Christ's priorities appear to be «
love in motion» flowing
in almost unpredictable directions as dictated by the greatest need: — He heals a slave rather than rebukes slavery; — He heals a man at a pool, then leads the man to belief, then says «cease from sinning»; — He heals many others and says «go and sin no more» to but a few; — He
shares money with the poor but establishes no long - term aid; — He touches lepers; He converses with seeking Pharisees; He debates with other Pharisees; He lives with Samaritan outcasts for two days; — He acknowledges the five «marriages» of the Samaritan woman as «marriages»... and then remarks about her current co-habitation... but then moves to higher priorities; — He seems so very focused on internal holiness and not on external holiness; — He violates the Sabbath; He says He is Lord of the Sabbath; He even says that the Sabbath was created to assist man, rather than man created to serve the Sabbath... thus turning the entire concept of the Law into one of assistance rather than being chained to obedience; — He insists on impartiality
in the
way we bless others, even if we call them «evil» or «good».

Obviously we can not
share in these various Afro - Asiatic forms of religion nor can we remain indifferent to the fact that each of them,

in which he wishes to be known,
loved, and served.

My review of a book that reports the story of a man who died
in 1940 does not in any way purport to compromise what, in 1965, Blessed Paul VI set down in Nostra Aetate, especially no. 4: «In her rejection of every persecution against any man, the Church, mindful of the patrimony she shares with the Jews and moved not by political reasons but by the Gospel's spiritual love, decries hatred, persecutions, displays of anti-Semitism, directed against Jews at any time and by anyone.&raqu
