In my article published in the November issue
of Kansas City Parent magazine, families

of fun ideas about how they like to spend the
holiday after dinner is done.
On the
fun side,
share some
holiday crafts with your child: Make a homemade advent calendar, create a nativity scene out
of cardboard and fill it with little dolls, craft a menorah out
of modeling clay, or make a Kwanzaa kinara to hold the symbolic candles representing the principles
of the
holiday — unity, self - determination, collective work and responsibility, cooperative economics, purpose, creativity, and faith.
Ours has been filled with lots
of relaxation and
fun and I'm
sharing the Weekly Blueprint early because: 1) there are a lot
of fun options for tomorrow's
holiday that you might want to plan for, and 2) as much as I love working, I want to take tomorrow off entirely for my birthday!
Today I'm
sharing a bunch
of fun toddler Christmas crafts that I found and should be easy enough that you won't go crazy trying to do them (because we have enough crazy around the
holidays, eh?).
Although this alternating year schedule may have the desired effect
of allowing the parents to avoid one another, it may not be the best solution for your children who want to
share this
fun holiday with both their parents.
On the
fun side,
share some meaningful playtime with your toddler: Play with nativity scene dolls, craft a menorah out
of clay, or have your toddler help place a set
of candles in a Kwanzaa kinara to represent the seven principles
of the
holiday.
Just for
fun, I'm
