Parents love to
share photos of their kids with family and friends, and now with FOTOBOX Plus, both novice and computer - savvy parents can edit their photos, apply themes and add background music and narration to slideshows, then upload to YouTube or Facebook.
I mean, sure, little Sally looks totally adorable in her paisley maxi dress that has been paired with the beautiful gladiator sandals, and little Timmy is just the cutest in his new digs, when moms are forever
sharing photos of their kids in amazing outfits, it kind of gets annoying (and you might find yourself gossiping with your friends about how much money she must be spending on her kids» clothing.)
While it's expected that moms will
share photos of their kids on social media, it's because of social media that so many moms today are trying to get the perfect shots, and I'm not talking about those posed school pictures; I'm talking about pictures of their kids playing at the park, sleeping or pretty much everything else.
I opened a Facebook account to
share photos of my kids with distant relatives.
But I haven't
shared a photo of the kids in awhile.
If you want to
share photos of your kids, try Facebook.
For instance, a husband can
share the photos of the kids with his wife.

At one point or another all
of my
kids have Googled me, scrolled through my
photos, and even
shared information with their little friends while proclaiming that Mommy is famous!

It's a good thing to explain your
kid the following: Any
photo of you (no matter if its a selfie or somebody took it) has a very big chance
of being
shared without your permission.

You may have already heard about a new Twitter hashtag that's making national news: disgruntled
kids are taking
photos of their unappetizing school lunches and
sharing them on Twitter with a sarcastic #thanksmichelleobama.
Some
of you may remember my 2011 Lunch Tray post («Social Media and Social Stigma on the Lunch Line «-RRB- in which I reported that students in HISD were taking cell phone pictures
of kids standing in the federally reimbursed school meal line, then
sharing these
photos on social media with disparaging comments.
In today's day and age where people are crazy about social media, documenting every aspect
of their lives through posts, status updates and
photos, it's safe to say that if you've got a
kid, you're going to be posting pics on your social media channels,
sharing cute images
of your little one with friends and family.
I am
sharing because I have received so many questions about why I don't post about my
kids (and in anticipation
of requests to
share a
photo of new baby).
Pull out old
photo albums and
share stories: I love reminiscing and telling John stories from my childhood or from growing up and I LOVE seeing pictures
of him as a
kid!
Photos of the
kids are not for
sharing (unless you ask for permission).
When I checked out one
of his podcasts, The Indoor
Kids, and heard the banter he
shares with his wife, another host, followed by looking up
photos of the two, I totally understood why he talks about her so much; these two are adorable.
