BioRxiv, launched yesterday by the nonprofit Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory (CSHL), aims to be biologists» version of arXiv, the popular preprint server where physicists have
shared their draft manuscripts for more than 20 years.
If you're a novelist, that might mean working through a few
drafts to iron out the story and characters; for non-fiction, that might mean
sharing the
manuscript with a focus group and re-writing it based on feedback.
