Sharing resources across grade levels, hallways or an entire school can be a frustrating hassle, but
with the right planning and
preparation,
teachers can still maximize these resources to give students access to digital tools for learning.
The bill required
teacher preparation programs to report data on their candidates (and
share this information
with their university), use higher cut scores on standardized tests for entry, and add portfolio - based assessments as graduation requirements, among other reforms.
And as the student population continues to grow more racially, ethnically, and linguistically diverse, the
teacher workforce remains overwhelmingly white.3 Research shows, however, that students of color benefit from having
teachers with whom they
share the same race or ethnicity, 4 and white students benefit from having nonwhite
teachers as well.5 In order to increase the number of
teacher candidates of color enrolling in and graduating from
teacher preparation programs, several states are developing initiatives to intentionally recruit high - achieving people of color into the teaching profession.
Partners collaborate,
share, and examine cutting - edge practices in the national shift toward clinically rich
teacher preparation with leading other
teacher educators from programs across the country.
I am pleased to
share that some of these efforts have paid off
with an invitation from the Department to collaborate on an upcoming
teacher preparation summit.
Both countries invest heavily in preservice
preparation in order for
teachers to have knowledge and skill to lead and
share their insights
with colleagues, administrators, and policy leaders.

teachers may complete to determine whether they have the resources and support necessary to meet the standards; information on how to bring grading into alignment

Our recommendations should be
shared with faculty and staff, considered
with strategic planning, and used to set direction as
teacher preparation programs take advantage of the rapid growth of online teaching and learning and modern advances
with technology.
Particularly relevant to preservice
preparation, the state
teachers of the year participating in the study said working
with preservice and novice
teachers inspires them to
share their best work and cultivate strong self - reflection skills in their junior partners — which in turn pushes their own practice forward.

And so one of the things as we look at how we support great teaching and build that continuum from, through
teacher preparation into
teacher practice, is how can we use technology as a tool to keep people connected, to be able to find resources as they need them and to be able to
share those
with their students regardless of what school they are in.
You get to
share ideas
with more experienced
teachers and pool resources, so the planning and
preparation burden is vastly reduced.
With an increasing
share of
teachers leaving the classroom, schools face the challenge of filling more vacancies — the difficulty of which is compounded by national trends of lower enrollment in
teacher preparation programs.53
With the help of the ConnectEd Studios, a robust online platform, credential candidates, public school
teachers and administrators, university
teacher preparation faculty, and industry leaders now have a» one stop shop «that offers a common venue to collaborate through conversations that include
sharing experiences, problem curriculum ideas, job openings, and lessons learned.
With the new name comes a renewed commitment to transforming
teacher preparation through the launch and sustainability of residencies, the
sharing of best practices and research, and an expanded policy and advocacy effort.
