In my work
at JPMorgan Chase and throughout my career, I have seen that around the world, we all
share aspirations for a
better life.
At our recent Entrepreneur
Live event, founders of
well - known and
well - loved consumer brands
shared what helped them stay on track with their missions in the midst of the changes, challenges and opportunities every entrepreneurial company experiences.
«To our friends
at Alphabet: we are partners, you are an important investor in Uber, and we
share a deep belief in the power of technology to change people's
lives for the
better,» wrote Khosrowshahi.
McRaven, whose address to graduates

better life.
«To our friends

«To our friends

They have different reasons for wanting a remote or flexible job, they are often
at different stages in their careers, and they have many different backgrounds and skills, but they all
share one thing in common: they wanted a
better way to find a
better job for a
better life... and FlexJobs was able to help!
Zuckerberg's fishbowl office makes sense for a man who has dedicated his career to helping people
share aspects of their
lives, but the sight of the Facebook C.E.O. with a screen on his face was
at that point
best kept a secret.
The growth we do want, or
at least the growth we should want, is in getting more
good living and strong community with less use of resources including sinks, and while allowing more space for the other species with which we
share this planet.
«
At the center of biblical faith,» says Walter Brueggemann in a sermon on this passage, «is a command from God that curbs economic transactions by an act of communal sanity that restores everyone to proper place in the economy, because
life in the community of faith does not consist of getting more but in
sharing well.»
We receive Him with the joy of Zacchaeus (Luke 19:6), rejoice over our newfound source of
living water offered to us in grace like the woman
at the
well (John 4:1 - 30) and
share the joy of Jesus» disciples as they discovered that even the demons are subject to Him (Luke 10:17).
Neville since Jesus
lives in you you may be the only Jesus people in the street get to know. Its his influence in us that has impact not a theoretic ideal of who Jesus is.Our identity is in Christ therefore we are like him or as paul said we are
living epistles like a
living bible that people can see who Jesus is.Just be yourself and reach out to others because you want them to know who Christ is like the woman
at the
well if they only knew him they would drink of the
living waters you have tasted and so you know its in that experience that we can
share or testify what he has done for us.brentnz
I lean towards the third view... but I admit it is the most difficult of the three views... Christ's priorities appear to be «love in motion» flowing in almost unpredictable directions as dictated by the greatest need: — He heals a slave rather than rebukes slavery; — He heals a man
at a pool, then leads the man to belief, then says «cease from sinning»; — He heals many others and says «go and sin no more» to but a few; — He
shares money with the poor but establishes no long - term aid; — He touches lepers; He converses with seeking Pharisees; He debates with other Pharisees; He
lives with Samaritan outcasts for two days; — He acknowledges the five «marriages» of the Samaritan woman as «marriages»... and then remarks about her current co-habitation... but then moves to higher priorities; — He seems so very focused on internal holiness and not on external holiness; — He violates the Sabbath; He says He is Lord of the Sabbath; He even says that the Sabbath was created to assist man, rather than man created to serve the Sabbath... thus turning the entire concept of the Law into one of assistance rather than being chained to obedience; — He insists on impartiality in the way we bless others, even if we call them «evil» or «
good».
The job then was
at best merely external and mechanical, never the work of a participant, of one who
shared our lot, who understood our sinful state, and who demonstrated the power of God to overcome it in actual human
life.
At several points he touches upon the paradoxes of modern urbanism and the tragic ironies of our cultural attitude toward cities: although we now have more individual freedom, technical ability, and, arguably, social equity, we do not
live in places as hospitable to human beings as were our cities of the past; we are pragmatists who build shoddily; our current obsession with historic preservation is the flip side of our utter lack of confidence in our ability to build
well; while cultures with
shared ascetic ideals and transcendent orientation built great cities and produced great landscapes, modern culture's expressive ideals, dogmatic public secularism, and privatized religiosity produce for us, even with our vast wealth, only private luxury, a spoiled countryside, and a public realm that is both venal and incoherent; above all, we simultaneously idolize nature and ruin it.
Once we begin to think of our faith in terms of largeness instead of largess or in terms of measurable success or significant achievements or community stature or statistically significant gains or business models or congregational models or appropriate budget processes or cash flow direction or generally accepted accounting practices or independent audits or administrative requirements or managerial transparency or proper leadership roles and boundaries or membership trends or effective organizational structures or a current and accurate vision statement —
at that point, we have become the money changers — we have lost our faith and deserve to be driven away for we are neither
living nor
sharing the
