Many years ago, I heard someone speaking about how Jesus»
life and death absorbed the «shock» of sin and death within creation and how we as His body have been called to a similar mission — the verses which speak of us «carrying
in our selves» the marks that we belong to Him,
sharing in some small way
in His sufferings as we
share in His
life — it's all part of a realm where the sweet savor of the fragrance of Him is allowed to be evidenced
in this broken
world.
Unfortunately we're
living in a
world that has come to value pat answers over the search and struggle to
share together.
Our boundedness by Christ gives us the framework, center, vision and mission: We are the body of Christ, gathering around Jesus, dreaming His dream of the Kingdom of God and
sharing His mission of
living it (
in unselfish service to our neighbour), preaching it and modeling it before a watching
world.
«The God who made the
world and everything
in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not
live in temples built by human hands «Acts 17:24 «Then I heard another voice from heaven say: ««Come out of her, my people,» so that you will not

It calls the disciple to
live, at least part of the time, as if he or she were already
in the next
world, a
world where all
share freely and constantly commune with God —
in short, a
life of love.
Authentic Christian spirituality is understood and
lived where there is real
sharing in the pain and agony of Christ for the

world but we can be moved by the love God gave us,

in our weakness no matter how important or unimportant we may appear to others.I guess it is easy to fall into the lie about political involvement that its hard to make change but some people have had a huge impact.Really it is God who deserves the praise he is the one that creats the opportunitys to make impact on the

In hebrews the great men and woman of faith there are those that seemed unimportant to the
world and many suffered for there faith Our Lord knows everyone by name and every small act of faith we do he remembers because we do it out of our love for him that is what the christian walk is about
living for Jesus and

Neville i liked what you wrote some really good points and churchs today are still making a difference
in society though society is becoming more secular.My thinking is as the
world gets darker and as it moves away from christian principles the light of Christ
in believers will grow proportionately brighter.We are here to make a difference we are
in the the
world but not of the
world.
In Christ we have been given
life and light to
share with those

Some say that ending tyranny means «imposing our values» on people who do not
share them, or that people
live in parts of the
world where freedom can not take hold.
