While the MPP focuses on both cats and dogs, the issue of lost pets is particularly relevant to cats,

We work with many different Alabama
shelters to try and
give these dogs a chance at finding a home instead of automatically facing the
euthanasia table.
The rescue works with

give bullies the best chance at finding a home instead of letting them face

Considerations for intake / surrender: in accepting dogs into our rescue program, preference is
given to those facing
euthanasia, to those living in
shelters or pounds, and to those in untenable living situations.
This allows for the reasonable likelihood that about 10 percent of animals entering a
given shelter system will either be irremediably suffering due to injury, illness or age, and
euthanasia to end that suffering will be deemed appropriate and humane, or will be too demonstrably or historically aggressive to be responsibly adopted to a member of the public.

It was difficult to even get the city
shelter to
give us the
euthanasia list, because nothing like that had ever been requested and they didn't understand why we wanted it.
Pawsitive Beginnings Puppy Rehabilitation Program rescues abandoned puppies and homeless mothers with nursing litters from

We save the most vulnerable animals from our region's

giving them all the medical care, nourishment, training, socialization, TLC, and time they need till we find them forever families.
Anyone attempting to surrender a stray cat or complaining of a «nuisance» cat was offered an alternative to
euthanasia: Certify that he was found outside and provide the location, and the
shelter would vet him and
give him back.
