Shelter Foundation

more than $ 8,700 to help women
and children who are served by the Kelowna Women's
Shelter.

All of the groups bringing animals to the
event, including the ASPCA, Animal Haven
Shelter, Bide - a-Wee,
and NYC's Animal Care & Control, are members of the Mayor's Alliance for NYC's Animals — a coalition of
more than 100 animal
shelters and rescue groups that are working with the City of New York to transform New York City into a no - kill community.
The ASPCA has facilitated hundreds of relationships between local Subaru retailers
and shelters, resulting in donation drives, adoption
events, pet
event sponsorships
and more.
Some supporters might prefer sophisticated
events like the Dumb Friends League's reception at the Denver Art Museum,
and others might feel
more comfortable attending a
shelter tour for donors.

Today, Best Friends in Utah has a number of partnerships with
shelters, providing them with the tools
and resources they need to save lives, such as fundraising
events, pet adoption promotions, stipends
and more.
On June 1
and 2, 2013,
more than 200
shelters and rescue groups from eight communities across the nation will participate in the adoption
event, which will place thousands of pets into their forever homes.
The turnout at this
event overwhelmed airport staff, with dozens of volunteers coming in from several
shelters in the greater Seattle area to pick up pets, including the ASPCA, Humane Societies of Seattle
and Kitsap
and Whatcom Counties, Seattle Animal
Shelter,
and more.
Animal League America's Cooperative Adoption Program provides our
shelter and rescue partners with the tools they need to run high - level adoption
events that help save even
more lives annually.
Highlights of the
event include photos with meteorologist Ron Trotta's talented weather predicting Yorkie, Schmitty the Weather Dog, which will benefit the Mayor's Alliance for NYC's Animals, a coalition of
more than 150 animal rescue groups
and shelters with the mission of transforming New York City into a no - kill community by 2015.

Birds that get too hot or cold can be at risk for fatal illness if they aren't able to get to the proper
shelter — add other weather
events like rain, hail,
and lighting...
MORE to the mix
and the risk is increased even further.
Though the cats
and dogs initially available for the adoption
event found homes, the
shelter indicated that
more will be made available on Monday.
Not only did almost 400 pets find new homes, but
more than 90 Mars Petcare U.S. Associates also joined together by dedicating
more than 230 hours of service to renovate
and refurbish the
shelters and help at the adoption
event.

and keeps the foster parent informed of any scheduled pet adoption
events or need for the animal to be brought back to the

The 2015 Best Friends National Conference that will take place in Atlanta, Georgia, from July 16 to July 19 is the latest in a long line of
events geared entirely to empowering individuals
and organizations to do
more to help end the killing in
shelters.
What's
more, the foster caregiver's interest in the dog didn't end when they brought it back to the
shelter; many volunteers continued to actively work on behalf of that dog, checking on his or her adoption status, continuing to share the dog on social media, taking her or him out to other adoption
events,
and, in several cases, even continuing to foster the dog after the research component was over.

more than 25 of its partner rescue organizations
and shelters participating in the adoption campaign this year,
and a full schedule of adoption
events lined up for the holidays, the Mayor's Alliance is doing its part to make sure as many animals as possible find homes this holiday season.
We simply couldn't exist without the help of our wonderful volunteers, who assess dogs at
shelters, drive dogs to the vet, foster, transport dogs to adopters, organize adoption
events, fundraise, read adoption applications, conduct phone interviews
and home safety checks, update our website, respond to calls
and emails...

As our mobile adoption units cross the country, they stop at our
shelter and rescue partners, helping them adopt
more animals through high - visibility adoption
events.
As part of the ASPCA ® Miami - Dade Community Partnership, Miami - Dade County Animal Services, the Humane Society of Greater Miami
and The Cat Network, Inc. received a grant funding to participate in the 2015 ASPCA ® Mega Match - a-thon
event, presented by Subaru, as part of large - scale adoption
events held simultaneously nationwide in an effort to save
more lives of
shelter animals.
NSR provides a variety of services to help small companion animals, including: rescue
and foster Services for California
shelters, public adoptions of small animals, behavioral advice, educational
events,
and more.
For the Humane Society of Greater Miami, one of four
shelters in South Florida that participated in the adoption
event, the day proved to be
more successful
and emotional than last year's
event.
Volunteer at a local
shelter to exercise dogs, clean kennels, transport pets to adoption

This furry, friendly, family
event helps raise funds to provide food,
shelter and medical care for the
more than 11,000 animals that come to our
shelter every year.

If a
shelter can't afford to rent out a space, I think they could make
more of a profit to go back into the animals by selling supplies,
and maybe by doing fundraisers (anything as simple as bake sales
and garage sales — which costs very little to set up — to auctions
and fundraising
events).
We need volunteers in many areas, such as: foster / medical, administration, adoptions, trap neuter release (TNR),
event volunteers, positive alternatives to
shelter surrender (PASS), marketing
and more.
Home Fur All's mission is to work with local
shelters and rescue groups to give homeless
and rescued animals
more opportunities to meet their future fur parents by inviting them to their open houses
and special
events that they host.
From May to September, it's puppy
and kitten season,
and our team is pushed to their limits in caring for sometimes 10 or
