everyone has their fair
share of homeless
shelters, and then the first one you open is in the most saturated area.
Vasudeva credits a number of G2Z strategies for the positive trends, such as implementing a foster care program; collaborating with community vet clinics; communicating the new approaches to
everyone internally; and
sharing shelter statistics with the public.
It's a new initiative that encourages
shelters and rescues to track and
share their statistics so that
everyone — especially local and national groups and researchers working on the problems of animal cruelty and pet homelessness — can identify and study what's working and replicate those approaches far and wide.
So in the summer of 2012,
everyone came to the table for a talk, and SFSPCA pitched a program it called Our
Shelter Shares.
The animal rescue community is better and stronger when
everyone works together, which is why we're so excited to
share a new partnership among some of our very favorite
shelters and organizations.
