All profits benefit the Brooklyn Animal Resource Coalition (a.k.a. BARC), a no -
kill shelter with the most refreshingly candid descriptions of adoptable animals that I've ever seen (
take Ray, here, for example).
This could include temporary boarding while a home is found, or pay shipment to a predetermined owner, or make a donation to a no -
kill shelter to
take in the pet and care for it while awaiting adoption.
The only no
kill shelter in Port Isabel TX (Laguna Madre Humane Society) is being
taken back by the city and will probably be a
kill shelter.
Sure, the city could use animal control resources, and taxpayer funds, to trap the harmless animals and
take them to their city
shelter where they would likely be
killed.
The family thought of
taking Mindy to the
shelter, but they knew she would be
killed because of a «no adoption» rule for Pit Bulls.
When I initially found out that there was a no
kill sanctuary in Utah, that gave the very best of care and
shelter to animals who were abandoned, found on the streets (many of them injured or sick),

shelter kills many dogs and is over an hour away, so many don't want to
take their dogs there.
Chris Leone, Nancy Williams and Shelley Pope worked tirelessly to re-home these animals and find rescues to
take them in so they would not have to be surrendered to a
kill shelter.

shelter or rescue to help them before they
took him to a high
kill shelter.

take in dogs from people who can no longer live with their original guardian or guardians.

shelter B, which was already
killing 200 animals, is now
killing 350 because
shelter A isn't

Completely agree that if open admission
shelters embrace no
kill they can become no
kill quickly (not that it doesn't
take a lot of work — but it can be done).
A small rescue in Japan reached out to us asking if we would be able to help and
take in a female frenchie who was in a high
kill shelter - so we started communication with them and they moved her from into a short term foster home in Japan while...
A
shelter which says
killing is wrong and chooses not to
take in more animals than they can humanely care for is not derelict because it refuses to
kill animals.
As if that wasn't enough to freak this great dog out, Animal Control
took him for a free ride to the local
kill shelter where they held him for 10 long days, in case the owners came to reclaim him.

take advantage of the now available sources of food and
