Being on the night
shift as a nursing mom can get rough, but the most important thing to remember is that we won't be on duty forever.

as I did 9 months pregnant, for over 2 years before I STRUGGLED to lose 25 lbs.It is my hypothesis that many new
moms,
nursing or not, have wonky thyroids.
As we valiantly commit to providing the best nourishment for our little ones,
moms nursing newborns also commit to 24 - hour days and 10 - 12 hour «night
shifts» that can leave us not only sleep deprived, but within millimeters of our sanity.
Nurses don't get the training they need to be able to provide
as in - depth care
as may be needed and lactation consultants have to see too many
mom - baby pairs each
shift.
It's been tough
as I'm a
mom of 3 under 8, wife and also a full time
nurse who works mostly night
shifts.
