There are some moments where the
game shines through, with its great leveling and crafting system and the combat can be a lot
of fun at
points.
To be fair to the developer
Shining Gate Software, I can't help but feel they were limited in storytelling by the
point and click nature
of the
game coupled with a seemingly low budget.
Which is, most likely, as Nintendo intended; as Irwin
points out, «Tanabe's absence suggests a corporate culture
of anonymity,» a neutral backdrop against which their «wunderkind - turned - producer - turned - mascot,» Miyamoto, can
shine «as some kind
of game character made flesh, grinning and swinging a plastic sword.»
Although only demonstrating one
game mode — Control, which has your team
of six fighting over three capture
points — the careful balance
of up to three weapons, double - jumping and and a super move
shines.
