At the end of the Gears trilogy I was all geared - out by it all, not really giving
a shit about any of the characters courtesy of the terrible voice acting, crappy plot and just the general, been here, done that vibe I got from it.

Mike Birbiglia's sophomore directorial effort is
about the agonies and ecstasies
of any creative pursuit — it just so happens that these
characters are in the pursuit
of making people laugh while making
shit up off the top
of their heads.
AVC: So, you were talking
about how you didn't want Jane Levy's reactions to be too stereotypically female, and you also mentioned that she gets pushed to the point where she kicks the
shit out
of Stephen Lang's
character.
Perhaps all would be forgiven if M: i: III were competently - directed (while M: I - 2 is one
of the stupidest films ever made, as John Woo is one
of the best action directors
of the past twenty - five years, damn if it's not beautiful, coherent, auteurist stupidity), but it's a glassy - eyed, dead thing complete with superfluous flashbacks to events we don't care
about involving
characters we don't recognize, an interminable party sequence in which Cruise trots out his smile like it was a weathered, beaten - down trophy wife, and a smug, self - congratulatory conclusion full
of high - fives, victory arms, and
shit - eating grins.
I must say that this was one
of the worst movies I've ever watched, «Evil Dead» was better than this mound
of shit... Gareth Edwards should be banned from directing hence forth, and now I hear he's directing the new Star Wars spin - off... I'm not one to talk down to others but let's be honest, you have to be retarded to like this movie... It made absolutely no sense, the script (the most important piece to any movie) was terrible, the plot was stupid, the acting was horrible and it seemed that the actors who were chosen were acting for a different movie all together... Where was the sense
of urgency, I mean there were 300 foot tall behemoths walking through buildings and all you could show us was who was going ride with the little boy on the school bus... Maybe if all the main
characters died and they just let Godzilla do his thing from there on out an eyebrow could've been raised but unfortunately, there isn't one good thing to say
about this movie... I'm shocked the WB handed over one their biggest names to Legendary Pictures... Let's not forget what they've done with Superman Returns... This is shameful...
What's often read as disdain for their
characters I've read mainly as antipathy for their audience: I believe they like their
characters just fine, it's just that they could give a
shit about your opinion
of what happens to them.
It should be said at this point that there is
about 15 %
of this film devoted to Godzilla and the other 85 % is more focused on the overly simplistic story and
characters that we could give two
shits about.
