I do in - depth reviews of about half of the novels I read and a decent amount of
the short fiction I read.
But a lot of
short fiction I read (even from big names that everyone would recognize), and some that I write, feels more like a novel excerpt than a self - contained story.

short stories, set in a variety of compelling places and time periods, is so creative and rich, it's been really fun to

short stories, and poetry — lists the estimated time it will take for a reader to
read a piece.
I
read some flash
fiction which I think is consider a
short story but they lack the appeal (for me) because of their brevity.
Since electronic
reading devices (and to some extent laptops for that matter) make
reading long pieces of writing less enjoyable, we have chosen to dedicate the journal to «
short fiction,» in this case,
fiction which is approximately 1500 words or less in length.
