shoot on a tripod.
I love the ability to manually control focal length, and set a 30 - second shutter speed for night - time

I used to take all my own
shots but my old
tripod broke, plus I used to live
on a super busy street that made me feel really silly while out there taking pictures with bunches of passersby apologizing and homeless people asking me for money and such.
If you don't feel photogenic, I recommend getting or borrowing a laptop computer with a camera
on it or a digital camera with
tripod and photographing yourself 1000 times if necessary to get that flattering
shot.
The film alternates between scenes of them talking about what's happening, meeting a specialist in ghosts and such, and the stationary
shots of the camera
on its
