The space — and the ambition — was influenced
by Charles Saatchi's big
gallery in Boundary Road in north London, which opened in the mid-1980s, and initially
showed work by pioneering American conceptual
artists like Sol LeWitt and Donald Judd, both of whom influenced Hirst.
It consists of
artists who had
shown with Feature, and are now sold
by their current
galleries; some of the
work is from back in the day, but much of it is new.
The American
artist Glenn Kaino recently visited Ferguson, Missouri — the town torn
by protests after a white police officer killed Mike Brown, an unarmed black teenager, on 9 August — for a
work he is due to unveil this weekend at his first solo
show at the Kavi Gupta
gallery in Chicago.
In March 2014, the
gallery reopened in an expanded bi-level space at 170 Suffolk Street, allowing our
artists the opportunity to evolve their practices to a larger scale while
working in a more flexible environment, and for the
gallery to host a greater number of organized
shows, curated both in - house and
by guest curators.
Inaugural
show at Keyes Art in it's new location in East Hampton, NY, «Hello» will feature
works by gallery artists, including Bert Stern, Bill Claps, Nathan Slate Joseph, Darius Yektai, Ned Smyth, April Gornik, Larry Rivers, John Chamberlain, and Willem de Kooning.
The
gallery further organized an exhibition of the
artist's early
work in 2004 - 2005, and, more recently, a
show in 2014 that focused on
work from the 1990s, which was accompanied
by a catalogue published
by David Zwirner Books, with essays
by Eva Badura - Triska, Veit Loers, and Bernhard Riff.

works span various media including performance, which can be see on Thursday evenings in July.
