I currently own a Cybook and love it, but I really like the look of the Generation 2 reader they
show on their web site (above the one you reference) It has a little bit bigger screen size (which apeals to me as I read everything
in a very
large font) and you should see all of the ebook reader software that comes on it — every major one is listed I think.
The Calendar interface has some hugely useful touches; days when you have a lot of meetings
show up with the date
in a
larger font in the default month view, and with a strip of colour to
show when you have meetings and conflicts.
The version hosted by Manchester Art Gallery was developed with Peter Saville and Richard Wentworth, a coupling that explains why the design of the
show is an odd but likeable mix of slick graphics (instructions stencilled
in large font on the wall of the main gallery) and DIY support structures, such as Wentworth's clunky viewing ramp, which also doubles as a display platform for piles of A4 take - home instructions.
Oh, and notifications — if you can call them that — conveyed from the phone to the watch are an absolute mess of
large, unchangeable
font sizes and terrible styles that force users to wait while they scroll horizontally,
in which time it would be faster just to take out your phone and check the notification on a screen more conducive to
showing high - density information.
